In the UK, the US and other parts of the world they celebrate Halloween on 31st October. The origin of this festivity is Samhain, a Celtic tradition, in which people protected their homes from the evil spirits by trying to frighten them away with scary turnips or pumpkins. In Colexio Abrente, we celebrate Halloween with a party in which we dress up as spooky creatures.
As usual, we had two contests: the costume parade and the playback competition. We saw lots of horrifying costumes: vampires, zombies, evil dolls… but the winner was Carla Deza’s (4th Primary) terrifying costume from the film Saw. We had lots of fun with the playback competition in which we enjoyed very talented performances. The prize went to Claudia Rosal and Blanca Dezagoire from 6th of Primary because they composed and sang Dreams. We also want to thank the students from 4th Secondary that presented: Laura Jamardo, Julia Soutullo and Sheila Rodríguez. And of course, to all the other students from Secondary that helped us with the organization and decorations. We hope you all enjoyed the party and have lots of fun trick or treating! Happy Halloween!
